4 Months Away...

So I'm sitting here in my office on a 29 degree day realizing that Dewey Season is exactly 4 months away. It will be on Route 1 in Dewey where the summer will sizzle and twenty attractive, single, career-driven Washingtonians will again hold summer shares at our beach house. We will flee DC each Friday to escape the soaring city temperatures for a different kind of heat. The summer will be different without cameras following my every step, but the atmosphere and people won't be too far from the norm. Kristen is definitely normal.... See you on the beach 8-)

Is it summer yet?

I get up at 5:00 almost every morning, brave the cold weather only to get to the gym and think about the beach. Is it summer yet? I want:

Breakfast at the Starboard, sand between my toes at the beach, a bike ride to Rehoboth, and Arnold Palmer (ice tea and lemonade) from Sharkey’s, an Irish Car bomb at McShea’s, a beer at H2Air, 14 more beers back at the Starboard, Wings to Go, one more beer back at a random house all followed by a bad night of sleep.

Sign on the dotted line...

The cast and crew had a blast filming the movie. Sometimes we received special perks along the way... Free subs, drinks, Monty acting as our personal bartender and yes, boob autotographs. After a long day of filming at Seacret's we finally felt as though we made it!

Favorite Dewey T-Shirt

It's show and tell time in Dewey Beach! Todays item is "my favorite shirt" and an unexpected guest.

GETTING AROUND IN DEWEY

One of the best things about Dewey is that you can walk, skate and even yes, ride your bike... I and Jerry, the production coordinator, had brought down cruisers for the summer. From time to time we would pick up cast members if they were running late for a shoot.

Dewey Beach Music Conference

Make sure you check out the Dewey Beach Music Conference in 2007. It's a great local event that supports many of the musicians in this film.

Bloopers

Check out this reel of bloopers from this summer. We pre-apologize to all of your mothers. Song is from the great band, Lucky Day. Vist them on the web: www.luckydayband.com

INTRODUCING "JUST THE TIP"

The crew is made up of very talented artists. We have a few accomplished musicians and also a few cow bell players. Nonetheless, we giving that ball of confussion a purpose and starting a band to appear on the soundtrack (deep in the background) and a one-time performance at the premier (try to get through one song) We are calling ourselves "Just the Tip". We are taking bookings for birthday parties and corporate events.

ONE NIGHT IN DEWEY

The day that we filmed the bus trip to Seacret's one of our cast members had way too much too drink. We had three scheduled shoots that night that we had to cancel due to "someone" passing out. So the crew took the night off, headed to the Starboard, located the four hottest girls and created what will now go down in history as the "Dance Zone".

The gang in the Dance Zone

Joe "The Man", Victoria & Carlos (I've never seen him so happy)

It's good to be the director...

Kiteboard & wakeboard champion, Shannon Best in town to help with the filming. Check out his site: www.bestkiteboarding.com Shannon is the kite boarder in the trailer.

Okay, Okay... This is the most happy I've seen Carlos.

The Crew: Production Manager

Our crew was made of dedicated professionals. Just another fine example.

LOVE/HATE...

Director of photography, Carlos

The interesting part of making a movie is the atachment that you get with the project. The attachment to the location, people and the crew. The summer of 2006 is long gone, however, there isn't a week that goes by without a call, email or text from a crew member or dewey veteran describing their longing to go back...

The crew found that Dewey is an interesting beast. It's almost a love hate kind of thing (lol) We spent the summer counting the minutes to head down and start filming. By mid-Sunday we all just wanted to go home... But, by the time we pulled into the driveway back home (2 hours later) we missed it already...

I think everyone that has been to Dewey will be able to relate.

ADHD SHOWS

IN THE EDITING ROOM

Dewey Beach the Movie is heavy in post-production and we are spending countless hours in the editing room. Due to the long hours reviewing over 70 hours of footage, edits and music scoring, we've moved the project to a home studio to make it a bit more convienent during the late nights.

The dvd extras will have a "behind the scenes" look into the editing process... But until then, get an inside look at the place where it all comes togther.

The main edit station.

Digital audio control surface. It controls all audio in the computer... No audio actually travels through the board. Gene Simmons oversees all mixing (lurking in the background)

Every editor needs a muse.

A few of the guitars that will assist in scoring the movie. Fender Strat (Special Edition Koa), Gibson Les Paul Standard, Musicman EVH.
